Frequently asked questions

Who is SimEd Academy for?

Two groups. The SimOps track serves simulation operations specialists, technicians, coordinators, and center managers. The SimEducator track serves educators, faculty, facilitators, and debriefers. Many people take both.

How long does the course take?

Lessons run two to five minutes. A full week of lessons, practice, podcast, game, and quiz takes about four to five hours. Go at your own pace.

Does it lead to a certification?

You earn a SimEd Academy certificate of completion. It is not a professional certification, but the tracks cover the knowledge that certification exams such as CHSOS and CHSE expect.

What is listen mode?

A switch on every lesson. It plays the lesson as narrated audio with the transcript, and adds Read aloud to text such as quiz questions and practice steps. Your choice and playback speed are saved to your account.

Is it free?

Every course is open with a free account during launch. Paid individual, team, and institution plans start later, with notice before any charge.

Can my institution assign it to staff?

Yes. Institutions get seats, groups, managers, due dates, progress reports, and a SCORM 1.2 package for their own learning system.

Are the scenario values clinical guidance?

No. Vital signs and clinical details in scenarios are teaching values for simulation practice only.
