Privacy notice
Draft version 2026-11, pending legal review. Have a Canadian privacy lawyer approve this text before paid launch.
SimEd Academy is run by InnovationBench. This notice explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Your name, email, and password (stored as a one-way hash). Your work details: role, workplace, institution, country, province or state, city, years in simulation, and your main goal. Your learning: lessons completed, time spent, quiz answers and scores, game and scenario scores, and the text you write in practice tasks and assignments. Your settings, such as listen mode and playback speed. When you sign in. Which pages you visit, recorded with a random browser code and no IP address. Basic technical logs needed to keep the site secure.
Who sees it
You. Our platform administrators. If an institution gave you a seat: its institution admin and the managers of groups you belong to, who see your progress, scores, and submitted practice answers for the courses they assign. Anyone you give a certificate link to sees your name, the course, and the date on that certificate.
Payments
When paid plans start, our payment provider processes card payments. We keep the provider’s reference, the card brand, and the last four digits, never the full card number.
What we never do
We never sell your personal information. We never share your name, email, or scores with a sponsor or vendor unless you agree to that specific partner. We send news emails only if you tick the box.
Where it is stored
On servers operated by our hosting provider. Lesson video and audio stream from a media host. Data may be stored outside Canada, including in the United States.
Your choices
From your account page you can change your email choices, download your data, or delete your account. When you delete your account we remove your name and email and keep only anonymous learning statistics.
